The two primary cannabinoids you’ll encounter are THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol). THC produces the psychoactive effects commonly associated with cannabis, while CBD offers therapeutic benefits without intoxication. Understanding these differences helps you make informed decisions about which products align with your wellness goals. Modern cannabis products feature precise cannabinoid profiles, allowing you to select formulations that target specific needs, whether you’re seeking relaxation, pain relief, or enhanced focus.

Cannabis Product Categories

Today’s cannabis market offers diverse consumption methods, each with unique onset times, duration, and effects. Flower remains the traditional choice, providing immediate effects when smoked or vaporized, typically lasting two to four hours. Edibles process through your digestive system, resulting in delayed onset (30-120 minutes) but longer-lasting effects (4-8 hours). Tinctures offer sublingual absorption for faster onset than edibles while maintaining discretion. Topicals provide localized relief without systemic effects, ideal for targeted pain management.

Concentrates represent the fastest-growing category, offering potencies ranging from 60-90% THC compared to flower’s typical 15-25%. These products include wax, shatter, live resin, and rosin, each produced through different extraction methods that preserve varying terpene profiles. Up to the consumer to try different things based on personal preferences and tolerance levels. We believe that informed consumers make better choices, which is why our knowledgeable staff explains the nuances of each product category.

Selecting the Right Products

  • Start Low and Go Slow: Begin with minimal doses, especially with edibles, and gradually increase until you find your optimal level
  • Consider Your Goals: Different strains and products serve different purposes, from energizing sativas to relaxing indicas
  • Track Your Experience: Keep notes about products, doses, and effects to refine your selections over time
  • Ask Questions: Our team provides personalized recommendations based on your experience level and desired outcomes

Quality remains a top priority at Smilez Dispensary. Third-party laboratory testing verifies cannabinoid content and screens for contaminants, providing transparency you deserve.

Cannabis and Wellness Integration

Cannabis is not just a product; it’s a science-backed solution that interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system to support health and happiness. Research continues revealing cannabis’s potential for managing chronic pain, reducing inflammation, alleviating anxiety, and improving sleep quality. Many customers integrate cannabis into their wellness routines alongside exercise, meditation, and nutrition for comprehensive health support.

The entourage effect describes how cannabis compounds work synergistically, with terpenes and minor cannabinoids enhancing primary cannabinoid effects. This phenomenon explains why full-spectrum products often provide more comprehensive benefits than isolated compounds. Understanding these interactions helps you select products that maximize therapeutic potential while minimizing unwanted effects.

Had a wonderful experience at Smilez a few days ago. I had never been to a dispensary before so it was a completely new experience for me. I came in to find something to help me sleep better during the night and Tayler was so accommodating.
